Good Morning!

This past Sunday, I woke up before the sunrise and took my favorite little boy (I only have one btw) to Kansas City for a Packers/Chiefs game.  I RARELY ever get up before the sunrise and I really wanted to capture it with my camera.  About a half an hour into the trip the colors really started to pop.   We were blessed to see the birth of one of the prettiest mornings ever.  EVER!!!  Maybe that was the price for watching my Packers get beat by the Chiefs later on that day.   It was still an unforgettable day with my son despite the outcome of the Packers/Chiefs game.:)

Don’t Just Sit There

“DON’T JUST SIT THERE!”

“Don’t just sit there”…  Its a personal note that Jessica had under a map to change the world for good.  Totally a self motivator and evidence of the kind of person she was.

I am so fortunate to have been able to meet Jessica.  The few times I got to photograph her and Tony I know that she was everything that has been described by her survivors.   Tony is a life long friend of mine.  I am extremely encouraged by his example of what a stand up person should be like.  I am sure most of us would be dictated by our anger and hurt.  Tony is using his situation to carry on Jessica’s legacy.  The video will tell the story better than I can so…

In Honor of Jessica, Tony is building a school in Tanzania for the less fortunate.  Jessica had a special place in her heart for people of Tanzania.  Tony and Jessica’s loved ones amaze me in the good that they are doing in Jessica’s honor and I, myself, don’t wanna just sit there.  This last weekend there was a marathon and MANY runners ran in honor of Jessica.  I am not a runner so I want to honor Jessica  with photography.  I am holding a Silent Auction in my studio and I have asked a few photographers to join in.  The Auction will be May 6th from 7-9pm.  On the west wall of my studio I am going to have displayed the work of a few photographers.   Those images will be the items placed in the silent auction.  My studio is located in the Burkholder Project Building located at 719 P street Lincoln, Nebraska Studio #9.  Half of the proceeds are going towards the school being built in Jessica’s honor and the other half of the proceeds are going towards the red cross in efforts to restore Japan.  If you just want to donate, the links are below.

On Top Of the World ~ Beth and Nick’s Engagement session

MY VERY FIRST BLOG POST FOR MY NEW BLOG and it such a wonderful subject matter…

I guess you can say they were on top of the world when Nick proposed to Beth.  I mean, about as close as you can get to the top of the world while being in Nebraska.  In his successful attempts of being romantic, Nick invited Beth to the to of the observation tower at Mahoney State Park.  Of course “YES” was her response.  Well done Nick!
What an amazing photo session and I can’t wait for their wedding!!
